I bet your pup is going to love these adorable treats, just like my Rhu does! They're super easy to make, and you can even prepare them ahead of time. Just wait to frost and decorate until right before you serve them.

Special equipment:
Muffin pan
  1. For the pupcakes: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease 6 wells in a muffin tin.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda and baking powder in a small bowl. Whisk together the applesauce, pumpkin, peanut butter and oil in a separate bowl. Beat in the egg. Add the flour mixture, stirring until combined.
  3. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups. Bake, rotating the tin after 9 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in a center comes out clean, about 18 minutes total. Remove the pupcakes to a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. For the frosting: Beat the cream cheese and peanut butter together in a bowl until smooth. Frost the pupcakes with the frosting. Garnish with the dog treats, if using. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
