Guy Fieri's favorite chefs from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives return to Flavortown for the second time to compete in an epic four-part tournament. He's putting their shopping and cooking skills to the test in his toughest games to see who is a Triple D, Triple G, Triple Threat. First they have to make their best street food on a tight budget, and then it's literally a roll of the dice to see what ingredients the chefs must use in their deluxe dish. Finally, they attempt to mash up comfort favorites in a winning dish for the chance to move on to the finale and earn the title of DDD All-Star Tournament Champion.
Host Eric Adjepong welcomes some of Chef Alex Guarnaschelli's favorite chefs to the arena, but it's not for fun, it's with the mission to take her down! All-star chefs Geoffrey Zakarian, Rocco DiSpirito and Gabriele Bertaccini prepare to compete in two rounds of intense culinary competition using what they know about Alex to outcook her. Food Network Star Aarti Sequeira and Tournament of Champions winner Mei Lin judge these four friends in a raucous and fierce competition.
Four previous Chopped Champions are returning to compete for a spot in the grand finale of the Chopped: Impossible tournament, featuring Chef Robert Irvine as a judge. First, they must take on a swamp creature and insects in the appetizer round, then attack a sweet spring treat and an aged egg for round two. Finally, the chefs who move on to dessert must remain calm and collected as they deal with whimsical sushi, leftover fruit, and a frozen favorite.
Four chefs who proved their rising star status in the Tournament of Champions arena are now Guy Fieri's newest first timers, so they have to make a winner's dinner while playing one of GGG's oldest and coldest games -- frozen food can-can. Then, the new stars play another OG game -- menu magnet madness -- and prepare the dish they each had a part in picking. A new winning star is born and celebrates by grabbing a big cash prize.
Three finalists hit the asphalt to battle it out to be named champion of the Judges Takeover Tournament and $25,000! This time, the stakeouts are supermarket themed, and Alex Guarnaschelli asks the chefs to first find shoppers who hit the butcher counter. Next, they must forage for something fresh from the produce section to impress judges Stephanie Izard and Ludo Lefebvre. For their final dish, the chefs must use groceries from the snack aisle to create a culinary sensation.
The finale of the Beat Bobby Flay Tournament brings four outstanding winners back to the Chopped Kitchen for a chance to defeat a Food Network legend and score $50,000. In round one, a pork product goes through a grinder as the champs try to make it taste good. A canned surprise in the second basket is not exactly what the chefs hoped to find, and as the tournament approaches its dramatic conclusion, a twist or two are in store. Finally, the last champ standing gets to cook their signature dish against Bobby Flay, who has been eagerly awaiting his chance at the stoves for 14 rounds of competition! Will the proven Chopped Champion remain undefeated, or will this day belong to Flay?
Chef Cliff Crooks has been cooking in prominent kitchens throughout New York City for more than 20 years. Prior to joining BLT Restaurant Group in 2010 as Executive Chef of BLT Steak New York, he held positions at Salute!, Blue Water Grill and Gramercy Tavern. Chef Cliff has appeared as a contestant on Top Chef and a judge on Hell’s Kitchen and Chopped Junior and will also be seen on Food Network’s Tournament of Champions. After more than two years of leading the kitchen at BLT Steak New York, the hospitality group’s flagship restaurant, Crooks was named Culinary Director of BLT Restaurant Group and has since played an integral role in inspiring culinary growth among his staff while demonstrating a strong commitment to the brand’s ethos of exceeding expectations through outstanding food and hospitality.
In the conclusion of this historic tournament, it's judges vs. champions! Two separate knockout rounds with the same basket will determine which genius judge and brilliant champ make it to the $100,000 title fight. The stakes are high as the competitors find an unusual seafood delicacy and a hot regional specialty in the first basket. Then, one champ and one judge will be left to duke it out. Who will score the biggest prize in Chopped history, and who will be chopped?
The champions of the first four Chopped Grill Masters competitions return to compete for $50,000. The fierce fight to the finish begins with an appetizer basket of sardines and canned Sloppy Joe filling. Steaks are served up in the entree course, but the chefs' success with the other ingredients gives the judges much to think about. The final two chefs draw from family memories when they open up the last basket of the tournament and must grill some do-or-die desserts.
The Kitchen hosts are making a menu full of delicious game-day grub! Jeff Mauro is making wings two ways with Fried Honey Miso Wings and Oven Baked Sweet and Spicy Cherry Pepper Wings. Katie Lee Biegel shares the melty goodness of French Onion Fries, and Chef Mei Lin stops by to make Sweet and Sour Meatballs and to talk about the new season of "Tournament of Champions." Rounding out gameday, Sunny Anderson creates the ultimate shareable snack, Sheet Pan Pulled Pork Quesadillas.
