These Storage Containers Changed My Life
They're a one-lid-fits-all dream come true!

I would consider myself a food storage container connoisseur. (What a self given title, right?!) While I'm no organizational expert, I appreciate when my storage containers work efficiently, store easily and don't go missing every time I open my cabinet.
When I started working at Food Network about a year ago, I kept noticing the kitchen staff using these clear plastic containers for everything from prepping ingredients to recipe testing to using them as water glasses! On set for video shoots, I realized everything was ready mise en place thanks to these guys. When I would peek into restaurant kitchens or bars, I’d notice how ingredients were all kept fresh with these same containers.
I began to put the pieces together and realized that almost every food professional uses these containers in some way. So why wasn’t I? After a little digging on Amazon, I found out they’re called deli containers. There’s really no fancy technology or breaking news about them. They’re simple, clear containers that come in three perfect sizes – 8 oz., 16 oz. and 32 oz. The absolute BEST part: the same size lid fits on all three containers. (If this doesn’t thrill you, I don’t know what will!)
Ever since I bought them a few months ago, I’ve used them for everything. Hot, cold, to-go, around the house – you name it! I use them for storing soups or homemade chicken stock in freezer. Not only do they stack perfectly, but the large size holds exactly 4 cups, which is usually the exact amount of stock I usually use in soup! Making a quick small batch of scrambled eggs comes together mess-free now that I whisk my eggs in the tall container. (No more raw eggs flying out of my cereal bowl!)
And meal prepping with these containers is a dream. Now I can take lunch to work without my heavy duty glass containers weighing me down. When I get to work, I dump my food in a microwave-safe bowl and I’m ready to eat. Pro-tip for salad lovers and snackers: The mini-size containers may seem small, but they’re exactly what you need for homemade dressings, salsa, portioned snacks or your own little mise en place for cooking at home.
When I was growing up, my dad used to tell me, “If you take care of your equipment, it will take care of you.” I’ve been taking care of these containers everyday and man are they taking care of me right back!
