The Sparkling Water Beer Lovers Need to Try
HOP WTR is the perfect Dry January sip you’ll want all year.
To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about trying a sparkling water that is brewed with hops, apparently tastes like beer but contains zero calories, and just might help me combat stress. But, I was blown! away!
HOP WTR is marketed as, “the healthy alternative to beer” and contains no alcohol, no calories, no sugar and no gluten, but my assumption that it must also include no flavor was quickly quashed.
The hop-filled sparkling water starts with two simple ingredients, hops and water, and is infused with adaptogens and nootropics, including n L-Theanine, 5-HTP, ashwagandha and maca. Now, I’m no expert on supplements, but that, “scientifically proven, stress-busting stack” 100% won me over.
The fact that HOP WTR tastes similar to a refreshing IPA was an added bonus. (And, if you’re into brews with a hint of fruit, I can confidently tell you the blood orange and mango varieties are delicious!)
Adaptogens are herbs and minerals that are intended to help you manage stress, and nootropics are supplements that can boost your brain’s function, according to HOP WTR’s website. Popping open a can in the afternoon is like a fun, refreshing treat: It’s reminiscent of beer, but it’s WFH-friendly. And I swear it increases my focus and productivity while giving me a calm disposition that helps me tackle all those assignments I need to finish before it’s time to pick up the kids from school.
While I could easily drink a HOP WTR a day, it is more expensive than my typical store-brand seltzer. Treating myself to a variety pack every few months, though, sounds like the perfect arrangement to keep both my stress levels and my bank account in check.
