Alex Guarnaschelli hosts as four chefs square off in a competitive pop-up kitchen outside a grocery store. Assigned a theme for each round, the chefs must size up shoppers as they exit the store and attempt to negotiate for their grocery bags. The judges send the chefs with the least successful dishes home, and the last chef standing walks away with a year's worth of groceries.

To start off the final week in boot camp, the remaining celebs play Ravenous Ravenous Recruits, using grabbers to retrieve ingredient balls from a ball pit. For the final skill drill cook, it's every recruit for themselves to create a composed dish using assigned ingredients. Chefs Anne Burrell and Jeff Mauro teach their final two recruits how to make a three-course, restaurant-quality meal, and the finalists put all their culinary skills on display to impress a panel of culinary experts. Judges Ilan Hall, Nilou Motamed and Ayesha Nurdjaja evaluate the recruits' dishes in a blind taste test and determine the winner of the $25,000 prize to charity.

Talented and ambitious sous chefs step into the Chopped Kitchen for a chance at securing a life-changing opportunity in the new five-part tournament, Chopped: Desperately Seeking Sous Chef. The judges are critiquing the chefs’ cooking skills along with their attitude, leadership, and ability to multitask to determine who has what it takes to make it to the finale for a chance at winning the title of grand champion and a job offer by Scott, Maneet or Chris to join their restaurants as a sous chef.
