And a fan favorite is coming back, too.

For a lot of people, ice cream cravings, while definitely a year-round thing, reach their peak in summer, whereas autumn is all about pumpkin: spice, pie, beverages. Dairy Queen is easing the transition from one season to the next with a couple of treats that combine the tastes often associated with each. (Because, really, what is time anymore?)
The chain’s new Pumpkin Cookie Butter Shake unites two favorite fall flavors — pumpkin and cookie butter — with its signature soft-serve ice cream to make a hybrid seasonal treat that will probably please pumpkin-spice lovers out there and be cool with ice cream lovers to boot.
According to DQ, the shake will combine “indulgent cookie butter made from ground cinnamon spice cookies, pumpkin, DQ signature vanilla soft serve and milk, topped with whipped cream and nutmeg” for what it says is “the ultimate cozy-and-cool autumn taste experience.”
The new shake will be available at participating locations nationwide on August 31, as will DQ’s Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Treat, a returning favorite that blends pieces of real pumpkin pie with vanilla soft serve ice cream garnished with whipped topping and a dash of nutmeg.
Sounds like, for pumpkin lovers, choosing between the two autumn-inspired ice cream drinks might be as difficult as deciding whether to go happy or scary with the jack-o’-lantern this year.
