We Tried Drew Barrymore's Walmart-Exclusive Air Fryer

These days, with so many amazing kitchen tools and appliances to choose from, consumers are seeking something more from what they buy. Chalk it up to the age of social media; these days, everyone is looking for beauty. It comes as no surprise then, that Walmart partnered with Drew Barrymore to create their new line of cookware, Beautiful Kitchenware by Drew Barrymore. This collection of appliances, cutlery, gadgets, and other cookware is sold exclusively at Walmart and features a bold, beautiful design in a range of eye-catching colors. But is it up to snuff when compared with other air fryers we’ve tested, or is it all looks and no muscle? Here are our thoughts on the Beautiful 6-Qt Touchscreen Air Fryer.

For One Thing, It’s Beautiful.

First up, it’s pretty. There’s no denying that. With brushed gold accents, matte exterior coloring (ours is chic Black Sesame), and a futuristic touch screen panel, it hardly seems like a classic appliance. When it’s turned off, the only visible light on the front is the softly blinking power light. The lack of raised buttons or dials means that cleaning the front only requires a quick wipe. Anyone with a kitchen can appreciate the valuable real estate of the kitchen counter. Beautiful decor and appliances should take center stage here and this line aligns perfectly with that goal.

It’s Powerful.

This 1700-watt air fryer got food crispy crazy-fast. Almost too fast. When we tested some frozen French fries according to the instructions, the fries were ready 2 minutes earlier than the suggested cooking time. Perfect for when the late-night French fry cravings just can’t wait. We noted that it heated up quickly and cooled down rapidly, without heating the surrounding kitchen much at all. Anybody without AC in the summer can understand how important this feature is.

It’s Surprisingly Affordable.

Walmart is typically known for incredible deals and the Beautiful Kitchenware line is no exception. The 6-quart air fryer will run you just $79 when you purchase online — a steal in the world of air fryers. We haven't seen other air fryers on the market that can boast this capacity at this price.

It’s Roomy.

The Beautiful Kitchenware 6-quart air fryer comes standard with a huge, nonstick basket that can fit up to 2 lbs of French fries and up to three chicken breasts, which makes it a great option for families and mid-sized households. However, this large size does come with a fairly large countertop footprint. The air fryer vents out the top and needs at least 4 inches of clearance above, so keep that in mind when considering if this appliance is right for you.

It’s Got Tons of Features.

Gone are the days when consumers only expected appliances to do one thing. To compete, the Beautiful Kitchenware air fryer comes with a few other bells and whistles besides just air fry. First up, it has a dehydrate setting that can be set as low as 90 degrees F. When set to dehydrate, the air fryer can operate for up to 8 hours before turning off automatically. It also comes with a low-heat "reheat" feature that works great when a high temperature would dry out your already cooked food and a "roast" feature.

Bottom Line: It's a great air fryer — especially for the price.
