Trendy, direct-to-consumer brands are popping up all over social media these days. One of those that has likely crossed your feed is undoubtedly the Always Pan from Our Place. These technicolor pans have made a big splash in the cookware world, claiming to be able to be the only pan you'll ever need again. After hitting the scene, the pans have become wildly popular, attracting the attention of celebrities and big-name chefs alike. We've reviewed them multiple times and were impressed by their unique design each time. The creators of the pan that sold out 30 times have debuted a new product: the Titanium Always Pan Pro. Built with flashy new technology and the same great design the brand has come to be known for, we put the pan to the test to see if it could live up to the hype.

What Is the Our Place Titanium Always Pan Pro?

Our Place's newest pan is made from titanium, a metal known for its durability. Without resorting to using traditional PFOAs, like those used in Teflon, this pan can offer a nonstick surface that is oven-safe up to 1000°F. The surface of the pan is not coated like other nonstick pans, and instead is made using a whole new "way of crafting titanium," according to the brand. Our Place claims the pan is virtually indestructible and is safe for the dishwasher and for use with metal utensils. The overall shape is very similar to the standard Our Place pan, with high sides that allow the pan to be used for boiling or braising. It comes with a vented lid and a wooden spoon that nests into the pan for easy storage.

How Is the Titanium Always Pan Pro Different from the Original Always Pan?

While this pan has a similar shape to the original Always Pan, the construction and materials are totally different. This allows the pan to be able to withstand super-hot temperatures while still retaining a nonstick effect. While the original Always Pan is made from lightweight aluminum coated in nonstick material, the Titanium Always Pan Pro is crafted from a solid piece of titanium paired with a specialized, proprietary textured surface on the interior.

How Does Our Place's NoCo Nonstick Technology Work?

The surface of the pan is not smooth but instead has a "micro-textured surface that mimics a leaf's structure," according to Our Place. That structure, combined with the natural hardness of titanium, is what keeps food from sticking without having to use coatings.

How We Tested the Our Place Titanium Always Pan Pro

To test the Our Place Titanium Always Pan Pro, we put it through a round of tests that we would use to test a stainless steel skillet or a nonstick pan. First, we cooked a few eggs, both fried and scrambled. We baked a cheesy frittata and seared a skin-on filet of salmon. We cranked the heat and seared a thick steak. We whipped up some pancake batter and flipped a few to see how they stuck. After testing, we washed the pan by hand and in the dishwasher to see if it could really hold up to what the brand claims.

What We Think About the Our Place Titanium Always Pan Pro

Performance

Overall, we were impressed by the performance of this pan. Searing received top marks and the pan got wicked-hot very fast. We were able to both fry and scramble eggs with ease, something that can be a struggle even in top-quality stainless steel pans. We were able to flip pancakes and skin-on fish with ease. The only spot where the pan struggled was when we attempted a frittata. We were not able to get the cheesy frittata to release from the pan without breaking apart. With time, the pan may develop a seasoning that can help with this type of recipe. Also, some of the softer items we tested (like pancakes) take on the texture of the pan, which doesn't affect the taste but does change how they look visually.

Appearance

The Titanium Always Pan Pro has a fully mirror-chrome exterior and comes in a (more expensive) version with gold-plated accents. Like all of Our Place's products, it was created with design in mind and it would not be out of place gracing the top of your stove.

Care and Maintenance

This pan wasn't quite as easy to clean as a nonstick but not as difficult as a stainless steel. While many things did not stick to the surface, some residue leftover from carbonization (like when we seared the steak) had to be lightly scrubbed off. The upper rim of the pan, which does not have the textured pattern of the inside of the pan, needed scrubbing with steel wool to remove baked-on grease.

Value

The pan is pricey at $195 and is more expensive than most of the pans in our stainless steel skillet review. That's no small wonder due to the unique tech that you can't find anywhere else. The pan is solid and should last years, so it could be a worthy investment for the right person.

Bottom Line: Who Should Buy the Our Place Titanium Always Pan Pro?

Anyone looking for an upgrade to their stainless steel or cast iron skillet could use this pan, especially those that have trouble with proteins, like steak or fish, and fried eggs sticking. This is a high-quality pan that could rival the results of any high-end brand-name pan of a similar build. In addition to excellent searing and frying, this pan could also be used for simmering, braising or deep-frying, which gives it more versatility than your standard skillet. Can it replace both your stainless steel pan and your nonstick pan? Probably not, as we did have issues with removing our frittata. However, if true nonstick isn't something you are looking for and fuss-free searing and frying is, then this is a great investment.
