Directions
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
For the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Add in the cold butter pats and pinch and rub it in like you would for pie dough until the butter is about the size of peas.
For the Cheddar-chive biscuits: If making the savory Cheddar-chive biscuits, stir in the Cheddar, chives and garlic powder.
For the lemon-blueberry-white chocolate biscuits: Or, if making the sweet lemon-blueberry-white chocolate biscuits, stir in the blueberries, white chocolate, sugar and lemon zest.
For the wet ingredients: Make a well in the center of the ingredients and add in the buttermilk. Stir just until combined.
Using 2 spoons or a 2-ounce spring-loaded ice cream scoop, scoop the dough into 9 mounds onto the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle the savory biscuits with extra cheese or the sweet version with extra sugar, if desired.
Bake the biscuits until golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes.
