4 McIntosh apples, cored, peeled, and chopped

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

2 tablespoons water

1/4 cup sugar


  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until apples become very tender, about 30 minutes. Applesauce may be left lumpy or mashed with a fork to become smoother.
