We feature a double dose of pears in this cranberry sauce — the fresh pears will become tender and almost break down into the sauce to help sweeten it, while the dried pear chunks add both texture and sweetness. The pomegranate reinforces the tartness of the cranberry and enhances the deep jewel tone of the sauce, making it a beautiful (and delicious) addition to your holiday table.

Directions
Combine the cranberries, sugar, pomegranate juice, fresh pear, dried pears, allspice and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to maintain a steady simmer and cook until the berries burst and the sauce thickens, 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from the heat.
Transfer the sauce to a bowl and refrigerate until completely cool before serving.
