Whisk 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice and 1/2 teaspoon each baking soda, baking powder and salt. Separately, whisk 2 sticks cooled melted butter, 2 eggs, 3/4 cup each granulated sugar and brown sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla; stir in the flour mixture. Stir in 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips. Scoop the dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F until golden, 16 to 18 minutes. (Makes about 24.)
