1 1/2 ounces gin, such as Plymouth

1 ounce fresh grapefruit juice 

3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice 

1/2 ounce Simple Syrup, recipe follows

1/4 ounce Green Chartreuse 

2 dashes orange bitters 

Grapefruit peel twist, for garnish

Simple Syrup:

1 cup sugar


  1. Put the gin, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, Simple Syrup, Chartreuse and orange bitters in a cocktail shaker, add large ice and shake vigorously. Double-strain into a Nick and Nora glass (or other cocktail glass) and garnish with a grapefruit peel twist.

Simple Syrup:

Yield: 1 1/2 cups
  1. Combine the sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let cool completely. Keep covered in the refrigerator up to 1 month.
