Guacamole is great as a dip or a topping as part of a Tex-Mex buffet. It’s cool and creamy, and provides a great texture. One important tip: Don’t skimp on the lime juice, as it prevents the guacamole from going brown.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. To a large bowl, add the avocados, lime zest, lime juice, garlic, salt, and pepper, then mash to your desired consistency. Add the Cotija, cilantro, serrano, tomato and most of the red onion, reserving some of each for garnish.
  2. Transfer to a wide serving bowl and spread it out. Spoon over the sour cream and garnish the top with the reserved ingredients.
