Cookin' for a Cookout

In this competition packed with backyard barbecue ingredients, the judges -- actress and singer Jana Kramer and chefs Marc Murphy and Geoffrey Zakarian -- are on the lookout for a Chopped cookout champion! The appetizer round reveals a popular potato dish and a protein meant for grilling. The junior chefs get some more cookout classics in the entree round when they find a saucy side dish and burgers. Then, the finalists get to work with a very sweet pie and a sour dairy product.

A-Z: H for Heavenly Hash

Guy Fieri's checking out some tried and true local faves. In Kansas City, Mo., a neighborhood favorite is killin' it with their scratch-made standouts like pork hash with black beans. Down the road, the former chef to the President of Italy is dishing up authentic homemade pastas straight out of the family recipe book. Then in Albuquerque, N.M., a Southern joint situated on Route 66 is serving up a smorgasbord of dishes from smoked barbecue chicken to specialty hot dogs.

Fresh Fish & Funky Chicken

This trip, Guy Fieri's hittin' the road for some outrageous seafood and tasty bird. In Des Moines, the trophy-winning barbecue joint smokin' up all kinds of unique wings and dishing out an out-of-bounds apple dumpling dessert. Across town in West Des Moines, a real deal Ecuadorian spot cookin' up authentic specialties like chicken with rice and pork with hominy. And in Eugene, Ore., the seafood market serving up totally fresh caught Dungeness crab and a legit Cajun crawfish pie.

Old Time Attitude

This trip, Guy's rolling out for some longtime traditions. In, Nashville, Tenn., a family-style restaurant is doing its James Beard Award-winning take on an old-school Southern classic - meat and three sides. On Saint Simons Island, Ga., see a barbecue joint where the pit master's smoking the old way - at a 1940s gas station. And in Wells, Maine, check out a local favorite from the ‘50s dishing up New England comfort food like Seafood Chowder and Lobster Pie.

Guy Fieri finds out what only the locals know at some places that have been drawing hometown crowds for years: The A1 diner in Gardiner, Maine, where they're cooking up gourmet specials in a 60 year old classic; Leo's Barbecue in Oklahoma City for amazing ribs in a former gas station; and the Eveready Diner in Hyde Park, N.Y., where after more than half a century, they bake their own bread and even the pancake batter is made completely from scratch.

Best of New York

Guy has visited lots of killer joints in New York and we've rounded up some of the best bites in the Big Apple. You can't visit New York without having old school Italian at John's of 12th Street or traditional Jewish favorites at Ben's Deli -- and no one does classic New York sandwiches like Defonte's. For the main dish challenge, things get smoking as the teams throw down on the grill with barbecue chicken. The two least successful recruits face a blind elimination challenge to make the ultimate breakfast sandwich.
