In this episode of "Giada's Weekend Getaway", host Giada DeLaurentiis gets creative with the perfect three-day, food-filled weekend in Santa Fe, New Mexico. From a nibble of chocolate art to the birthplace of the breakfast burrito, our host has a taste of tantalizing tapas, a bite of the best chile relleno and a turn at spinning some pottery, all before a sweet view of the entire Sangre de Christo Mountains.
Giada goes back to her culinary roots when she takes a Saturday cooking course at Le Cordon Bleu. A trip to her favorite Italian trattoria, Restaurant Rue Cherche Midi brings back memories while a visit to the top of the Arc de Triomph provides panoramic views of the city of light.
The competition is down to the final four, and it's time to see if the finalists can handle the rigors of live television. Each finalist must make a "share-worthy" dish live on Food Network's Facebook page, and their demo is put to the test when special guest Anne Burrell is revealed as the on-camera talent. The finalists have to act as producers, guiding Anne through the demo using a wireless earpiece. The pressure continues to escalate when each finalist hosts their own live "in the kitchen" show with a special guest who's familiar with the format ... Food Network's Ree Drummond! Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay decide which finalists best handle these pressure-packed challenges and earn a spot in the final three.
The California style is usually laid back and casual ... anything goes. But tonight, Giada invites friends over for an elegant dinner party. Guests dress to impress and the menu is gourmet and sophisticated featuring Filet Mignon With Rosemary and Mushroom Gravy, Asparagus Soup With Herbed Goat Cheese and Lemon and White Chocolate Pots de Creme.
