Football Ice Cream Sandwiches

Katie Lee Biegel starts by sharing a fun way to serve ice cream sandwiches for the big game. To make these, start by laying the ice cream sandwiches on a parchment-lined platter. Simply add a wide, wooden ice pop stick into the short end of the sandwich and use white, store-bought bottled cookie icing to draw on the lace detail so it looks like a football. Put them back into the freezer to harden up until you’re ready to serve!

Football Popcorn Cones

Alex Guarnaschelli shares the next amped up football decor idea. The perfect paper serving cones! They’re great for individual servings of popcorn, chips, fries or any of those great game day finger foods. First, cut a piece of brown craft paper into a large triangle. It should look like a bandana with the long end measuring about 1 1/2 inches. Next, roll it into a cone and staple the top closed so that the cone holds its shape. Then, use white craft tape to make the football laces and place one piece around the bottom to imitate the stripe around the bottom. Now your cone looks just like a football. Stack the cones inside of glasses for easy access for all of your guests.

Seven Layer Football Dip

Jeff Mauro’s final “Touchdown Touch” will take your seven-layer dip to a new level. Make your favorite seven-layer dip recipe, making sure to put the bean layer on top. Time to make the football stencil. Use any type of thick paper or even a manila file folder to draw and cut out a football shape that will fit in the center of the baking dish. Next, lay the stencil in the middle of the dip and place finely shredded lettuce around the perimeter. Gently peel away the stencil to reveal the football shape, then add the lace detail using a squeeze bottle filled with sour cream or Mexican crema. Serve with a big bowl of crunchy tortilla chips as a festive way to win your big game party!
