Introducing Food Network’s Best in Basket Awards, a New Digital Grocery Award Franchise

At Food Network, we take grocery shopping seriously. Our team of staffers and contributors regularly taste-tests consumer packaged goods (CPG) to recommend everything from the best pancake mixes to the best barbecue sauces. And our team of contributing registered dietitians also shares expert-recommended healthy food picks like the healthiest peanut butters and healthiest boxed mac and cheeses.

We regularly attend the food industry's biggest tradeshows and expos to scout out the latest food and beverage launches, innovations and trends. When a new or innovative food product hits the market, there’s a good chance someone on our team wants to try it. And yes, we really do mean everything! This year alone, we’ve sipped pickle-flavored electrolyte drinks and even tested a bug-repelling whiskey.

Now, we’re setting out to find the very best grocery products for our inaugural 2027 Best in Basket Awards. Our editors will taste and evaluate products from across the aisles to find the standouts worthy of being crowned Best in Basket. The award winners will be announced in March 2027.

If your brand has a product you think should be in our basket, we want to hear about it. Here’s what to know:

What to Know Before You Enter Food Network’s Best in Basket Awards

To be eligible for consideration, products must be available for purchase nationwide in the U.S. either online, at a major grocery store or both by Oct. 31, 2026.

While we do not require that the products have launched in the last year, our team will prioritize testing and awarding newer groceries. Please refrain from submitting limited-time seasonal flavors, too.

There is no fee to submit.

Brands must also be able to provide samples so our editors can put each product to the test.

For our inaugural Best in Basket Awards, we’re accepting products across the following categories:

• Drinks
• Snacks
• Desserts
• Proteins
• Pantry Staples
• Frozen Foods
• Refrigerated Foods
• Condiments

At this time, we are not accepting alcoholic beverages for consideration.

How to Submit Groceries for Food Network’s Best in Basket Awards

Complete our Best in Basket Awards submission form by October 31, 2026, and tell us what we should be testing. At this time, there is no fee to submit.

If you are submitting multiple products for consideration, we ask that each product has its own individual submission. If a product comes in multiple flavors you’d like to enter, please submit a separate entry for each flavor.
