It’s always a treat to unwrap a gift and find it’s something you can eat. It’s also an added treat when that gift is something like a delicious infused olive oil or bright, tangy vinegar you can enjoy again and again until the bottle runs dry. But if you’ve ever felt that tinge of sadness when a fancy food product’s time in your pantry comes to an end, forcing you to return to your boring old mainstay, at least one company has heard you.

Brightland, the brand known for its higher end, attractively packaged, super-giftable bottles of California-produced olive oils, vinegars and honeys, has introduced a new pair of cold-pressed, “Everyday” extra virgin olive oils that won’t break the bank while still offering a quality product in a countertop-worthy bottle.

The Everyday Salad Oil, milled earlier in the harvest season, goes big on fruitiness and grassiness along with a peppery kick, despite not being infused with anything. It’s designed for finishing or garnishing dishes and, as its name suggests, dressing salads. We found it elevated our nectarine and heirloom tomato salad’s summery flavors without feeling heavy or overly oily.

The Everyday Cooking Oil, on the other hand, is milled later in the fall and has a milder, smoother finish designed for oiling your pots and pans for sautéing, browning and roasting. While still flavorful, it packs less of a punch than its counterpart, but benefits from a higher heat tolerance of up to 445 degrees Fahrenheit.

“It took us three years to bring this new line to life — not just to find a California partner who met our standards for quality, but to thoughtfully design every detail,” Brightland Founder and CEO Aishwarya Iyer said. “We’ve earned the trust of our community by being intentional with every decision, and this launch is no exception.”

While Brightland is known for its beautifully-designed and giftable glass bottles, both Everyday oils come in the twist-top squeeze bottles that have become common among modern olive oil producers like Graza. “Our community has sought a convenient and accessible solution like this for years –– a need underscored by the overwhelmingly positive reception of our Pizza Oil, which was released over two years ago,” Iyer explained. “The squeeze bottle has been a known and trusted kitchen staple for decades, and Brightland refined it to match its uncompromising standards for flavor, quality and design.”

Brightland’s Everyday oils will be available for $19.99 per 750ml bottle at Whole Foods Markets nationwide starting in August, but you can order them starting June 17, at brightland.co.
