Not long ago, food-focused social media was abuzz with an innovation in the olive oil space that, in retrospect, seems like a no-brainer: Squeeze bottles. Whether you’re using a hearty, neutral oil for greasing a pan or a light and fruity olive oil for drizzling as a finishing touch, pouring from an open-mouthed bottle could be a bit cumbersome or even messy, and not everyone has the spare time and energy to devote to decanting their oils into fancy cruets or specialized dispensers.

So, in 2022 when Graza came along with its squeezable plastic bottles featuring a twistable top in — not to mention quality, single-origin Spanish olive oil inside — the brand took off. Since then, Graza has added to its original “Drizzle” finishing oil and “Sizzle” cooking oil with a “Frizzle” frying oil (yes, still made from olives) and eco-friendly refills sold in aluminum cans, so you can keep using your plastic bottles again and again. (They’ve also branched out into potato chips and canned cocktails.) Oh, and they’re currently the fifth largest olive oil brand in the U.S.

With all that success offering an easy, squeezy option, it might surprise some hardcore Graza fans to learn that the brand’s next bottle offering isn’t as flexible. But it just might be more sustainable. That’s because Graza is now adding the option to purchase its olive oil products in glass bottles, too.

Starting today, you can order Sizzle and Drizzle (either individually or as a set) in glass bottles at graza.co, or find them at Whole Foods and Kroger stores across the country. The bottles are coated with a “100% UV-blocking paint for a fully opaque finish that protects against harmful rays and preserves the oil’s freshness.” And if the ability to enjoy your oil relatively spill-free thanks to those aforementioned twist tops was one of your main reasons for liking Graza, under their screw top, the new bottles have their own pop-up pour spout. Graza touts that the spouts are also removable and replaceable, making these glass bottles fully refillable and reusable.

“When we first launched with our OG squeeze bottle in 2022, we heard loud and clear from some folks that they simply prefer their olive oil in glass,” Andrew Benin, CEO and Co-Founder of Graza, says. “And we delivered. These bottles have been in the works for years, but none of the existing glass options felt true to who we are. So, we took our time, cast our own molds, and made something that feels distinctly Graza. We couldn’t be more excited to finally share them with the world.”

Oddly enough, things seem pretty competitive in the olive oil game. In June, luxury oil brand Brightland, known for its stylish, countertop-worthy glass bottles, started offering a more affordable and squeezable option in, you guessed it, plastic.
