Bobby Flay is taking his culinary talents to a new arena: the pet food aisle. Bobby has teamed up with his beloved cat, Nacho, on a cat food line, Made by Nacho, designed with flavor, nutrition and feline-approval in mind.
"While many know I am passionate about cooking, I am equally as passionate about the cats in my life," says Bobby. "While I influence the recipes, Nacho does the hard work of creating the menu and paw-selecting every ingredient."
The new Made by Nacho line features wet cat food, dry cat food and snacks. Cats are carnivores so it was important for meat to play a central role in development of the products. Cage-free chicken, grass-fed beef and sustainably-sourced salmon are all major players on the ingredient labels. To that end, one of the line's "secret ingredients" is bone broth, which adds protein, nutrients and collagen to the products.
While many cat lovers might be thrilled to hear each product has been taste-tested by Nacho, owners can feel confident that the recipes have been run by Dr. Katja Lang, DVM and Veterinary Consultant at Made by Nacho.
"I’ve worked with Nacho to identify what is best for feline diets, starting with nutritional content, all the way down to flavor — because palatability is essential to a cat’s food," says Dr. Lang.
