Pillsbury Is Launching a Festive New Line — But Only for a Limited Time
These red, white and blue cake mixes and frostings are perfect for your Semiquincentennial celebrations.

Are you planning to bake for the Fourth of July? Trying to figure out what to bring to America’s 250th birthday party? Pillsbury has just launched a line of Funfetti festive cake mixes and frostings in red, white and blue to make your holiday dessert prep a whole lot easier.
The new Funfetti Stars & Stripes lineup “is all about bringing people together to celebrate in a fun, memorable — and delicious — way," Dan Anglemyer, chief operating officer at Hometown Food Company (which owns the U.S. rights to Pillsbury's shelf-stable baking products), says in a statement. "As we gear up for America's 250th birthday, we wanted to make it easier than ever for families to bake up something special.”
What is in Pillsbury's Funfetti Stars & Stripes line?
The Semiquincentennial-ready collection includes two cake mixes:
- Funfetti Stars & Stripes Sprinkle Cake Mix (15.25 oz): This “moist” mix includes “colorful candy bits” and “simple, easy-to-follow instructions” that are “perfect for bakers of all skill levels.”
- Pillsbury Funfetti Stars & Stripes Red Swirl Cake Mix (15.25 oz): This “visually stunning dessert” mix comes with separate pouches of red and white cake mix that are meant to be swirled together to make a “striking, bakery-style design.”
The line also includes three spreadable frostings — one red, one white and one blue:
- Red Vanilla Frosting (15.6 oz): This “vibrant” frosting is available exclusively at Walmart.
- White Vanilla Frosting (15.6 oz): With a “classic, creamy finish,” this frosting is available nationwide.
- Blue Vanilla Frosting (15.6 oz): This “bold, patriotic”-colored frosting is available exclusively at Walmart.
“With bold red, white and blue colors and classic Funfetti flavor, these products help create festive desserts that look as incredible as they taste — and turn any gathering into a true celebration,” Anglemyer says.
Where can you get the new Funfetti Stars & Stripes cake mixes and frostings?
The new products start rolling out to retail stores nationwide in early May and will be prominently displayed at Walmart locations through July 3. Note that the red and blue frosting varieties will only be sold at Walmart.
