Ore-Ida Introduces New Tater Tot Shapes for the First Time in Nearly 20 Years

There's something so nostalgic about going to the grocery store and picking up the big red bag of Ore-Ida tater tots. Even as an adult, I still buy tater tots to eat with my macaroni and cheese and hot dogs. For other tater tot lovers like myself, you'll be stoked to learn that Ore-Ida has just introduced two new shapes to its lineup — its first ones in nearly two decades. And they aren't boring, to say the least.
What are Ore-Ida's new tater tot shapes?
The two new Ore-Ida tater tot shapes are Star and Dino. They'll make the perfect addition to any spring party or summer barbecue where tater tots are essential.
“Ore-Ida invented Tater Tots — and now, we’re shaping what comes next,” Claire Lukaszewski, senior brand manager of Ore-Ida, says in a press release. “With Dino and Star Tater Tots, we’re building on more than 70 years of potato expertise to bring new energy to the category — delivering the same great taste people expect in formats that feel fun, relevant, and made for today.”
Fans of dinosaur chicken nuggets will now have new dino-shaped tater tots to eat alongside their protein at dinnertime. They come in the shapes of a tyrannosaurus rex, triceratops, brontosaurus and a dinosaur foot print.
And, for the kiddos and adults who love to make mealtime a party, the star shaped tater tots will bring geometric fun to the table in a whole new way. The release is timed for the nation's 250th anniversary. To celebrate the momentous occasion, they'll come in limited-edition packaging, thanks to Ore-Ida's partnership with America250, an organization dedicated to getting people involved in the celebration of the country's milestone birthday.
When will Ore-Ida's new tater tot shapes be available?
The Ore-Ida Dino and Star shaped tater tots are available now, in 28-ounce bags and in 5-pound club sizes, in the freezer aisle at major retailers nationwide. Pricing starts at $4.89 for the smaller bag.
