McDonald's Introduces Its First Energy Drink
The Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer is joining the chain's craft drink lineup.

Next time you stop into a McDonald’s in need of a little caffeine boost, your options will go beyond the standard coffee-tea-soda realm.
The fast food chain is getting into the energy drink game. Starting Monday, August 17, Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer will make its nationwide debut at McDonald’s, expanding the chain’s line of crafted sodas and refreshers in a highly caffeinated way.
What is McDonald’s new Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer?
Marking Red Bull’s first foray into fast food, the new drink blends the “signature flavor” of Red Bull with blue-raspberry syrup and “freeze-dried dragonfruit inclusion.” The result is a “bold, fruit-forward sip that’s as vibrant as it is energizing,” according to McDonald’s.
Those who want their caffeine hit with reduced sugar can substitute Red Bull Zero as a base for their drink. Those who just want Red Bull, without any mix-ins, can order an 8.4-ounce can at participating McDonald’s locations.
“We’ve seen growing enthusiasm for our crafted sodas and refreshers as fans look for more variety and options to fit every occasion,” Alyssa Buetikofer, McDonald's USA’s chief marketing and customer experience officer, says in a press release. “They loved the Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer when we first tested it in the U.S., so we're excited to give fans nationwide the energy they’ve been craving with Red Bull.”

Is McDonald’s launching any other drinks?
Indeed it is. The chain is now offering a new cola-based crafted beverage, the Vanilla Swirl. The new drink pairs the flavor of vanilla with a choice of Coca-Cola, Diet Coke or Coke Zero Sugar and tops it with “creamy cold foam.”
Orange Dream with Fanta and new reduced sugar crafted sodas featuring Diet Dr Pepper, Dr Pepper Zero Sugar and Sprite Zero Sugar are also available at participating McDonald’s locations.
And, McDonald’s has more beverage innovations on tap, according to Buetikofer.
“We’re just getting started,” she says.

You can order all of the new items at participating locations starting Monday, August 17.
