After winter storms and dreary weather, we’ve finally come out on the other side. Let’s face it, we want to feel like we’re living inside of a Georges Seurat painting — having sunny picnics in the park, riding sail boats and laying out in the cool breeze. Oreo’s newest limited-edition release is captivating this summer idealism in a cookie.
What are the new limited-edition Oreos?
To kick off warm weather season, Oreo is launching Firecracker Pop Oreos, inspired by the beloved, multicolored frozen treat. The new cookies are designed to be a flavor explosion, with layers of blue raspberry, lemon and cherry-flavored creme sandwiched between two golden cookies. The cookies are a no-brainer to bring to your family’s summer barbecue, picnic or Fourth of July celebration (and you won’t have to worry about them melting).
As a brand that’s known for its seasonal limited-edition flavors, Oreo constantly has to live up to the precedent it’s set before, including its summer releases. Last year, it came out with Blueberry Pie Oreos, and this March, it brought back s’more-inspired Oreos (now named S’moreos). The new Firecracker Pop cookie is also reminiscent of the brand’s 2017 Fireworks Oreo: classic chocolate and creme Oreos with popping candy inside.
How are fans Reacting to Oreo Firecracker Pop?
“Ok dang loveeee the creativity here,” one fan commented on Instagram.
“They look like they would be good and it’s perfect for Fourth of July,” another wrote.
“Immediate need,” a third wrote.
Other fans said they wished the cookies had popping candy inside. Maybe next summer.
When can you buy Firecracker Pop Oreos?
The new Oreos are available in retailers nationwide starting today, May 4, while supplies last. The cookies retail for $5.79 for an 11.46 ounce pack.
