This protein-packed dessert comes together in 10 minutes and delivers both chocolatey richness and an impressive 14 grams of protein per serving. Just combine cottage cheese, melted milk chocolate chips and a touch of maple syrup in a food processor and blend until decadently creamy. Chill in individual dishes or cups and garnish with strawberries for a colorful touch. It’s a quick, healthy treat that’s naturally gluten-free and will satisfy a sweet tooth or chocolate craving in style.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals until melted, stirring in between.
  2. Purée the cottage cheese in a food processor until very smooth with no lumps, stopping and scraping down the sides as needed, 1 to 2 minutes. Add the melted chocolate and maple syrup and purée again until smooth and well combined.
  3. Spoon into 4 small serving dishes or cups. The mousse can be eaten right away but tastes best chilled for at least 1 hour. Garnish with strawberries before serving.

Cook’s Note

When testing this recipe we found that the intensity of semisweet chocolate chips didn’t pair perfectly with cottage cheese, so we opted for sweeter, milder milk chocolate instead.
