Herbed French Bread

Directions

  1. Slice a baguette on a sharp diagonal to make 8 long pieces. Butter both sides, season with salt and pepper and arrange on a baking sheet. Combine 3 tablespoons chopped chives and 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme); sprinkle on the bread. Bake at 400 degrees F until crisp, 15 minutes.
