6 ounces bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, roughly chopped

6 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/4 cup light corn syrup or honey

Ice cream, pound cake and/or berries, for serving, optional


  1. Put the chocolate, butter and corn syrup in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30-second increments, stirring, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth. Serve warm over ice cream, pound cake or berries if using.
