2 garlic cloves, chopped

2 bunches fresh basil, leaves chopped

1 red onion, chopped

24 jumbo shrimp, shelled and deveined

1 cup olive oil

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 stick salted butter

1 1/2 cups lemon juice


  1. Combine the garlic, basil and onion in a large bowl. Add the shrimp, olive oil and black pepper. Stir and let the shrimp marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. Melt the butter and lemon juice in a saucepan over low heat. Add the butter and lemon juice to the shrimp mixture and toss.
  3. Preheat a grill to 300 degrees F.
  4. Thread the shrimp onto metal skewers. Arrange the skewers on the grill and grill until cooked through. Transfer the shrimp to a serving platter and serve.
