Cheeseballs are the centerpiece of any great Midwestern party. They’re quirky, bulbous and impossible not to love. The variations you can do are endless by switching up the cheese, mix-ins, and seasonings. Molly has never met a cheeseball she didn’t like! This is her savory pizza-inspired ball with homemade crispy cheesy crackers for dunking…when you have time to make them, that is — store-bought is totally okay if not!

Ingredients

Double Cheese Crackers:

Pepperoni Pizza Cheeseball:

Directions

  1. For the crackers: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a food processor, pulse together the flour, oregano, crushed red pepper, salt, a generous amount of black pepper, and the cheese. Add the butter and continue to pulse until the mixture starts to clump together. Press the dough into a ball and roll out to 1/8-inch thick on a surface lightly dusted with flour. Cut into 2-inch diamonds and transfer to a parchment lined sheet pan, then bake until crisp; begin checking at 20 minutes.
  3. For the cheeseball: In a medium bowl, stir together the cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, pepperoni, olives, oregano, onion powder, red pepper flakes, garlic, and bell pepper until fully combined. Shape into a ball and place the extra mini pepperonis on the ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge until ready to serve.
  4. To serve, dip the cheese crackers into the cheese ball and enjoy!
