Spicy Sweet Popcorn

8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter

1/3 cup packed light brown sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon chipotle powder

1 teaspoon kosher salt

20 cups popped popcorn


  1. Combine the butter, sugar, cinnamon, chipotle and salt in a saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring, until the butter melts and starts to bubble, 4 to 5 minutes.
  2. Add the popcorn to a large bowl. Working quickly, pour the butter mixture over the popcorn and use 2 rubber spatulas to evenly coat the popcorn.
