Stewed Okra and Tomatoes

2 cups okra, cut into 1/2-inch pieces

2 large tomatoes, peeled and diced

1 medium onion, diced

4 tablespoons water

2 tablespoons sugar


  1. Place all ingredients in a medium pot, cover, and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer, covered, for about 1 hour.
