The Great Food Truck Race Season 12

Seven teams of food truck operators share a sneak peek of their adventure of a lifetime along California's Gold Coast, with its larger-than-life backdrops and big-money opportunities. Each week, the teams race to a different glamorous location to face new challenges, cook incredible dishes and, as always, try to outsell the competition. The team that earns the least has to turn in their VIP badges at the door until two teams are left to face off for the ultimate $50,000 prize.

David vs. Goliath: This Is Food Truck Heaven?

For the first time in The Great Food Truck Race's history, Tyler Florence pits four food truck pros against five food truck rookies in an epic David vs. Goliath battle to win $50,000. The nine teams arrive in Los Angeles ready to fight, but no one is prepared for the twists and turns Tyler has in store. With over 4,000 licensed food trucks already on streets, the competition in Los Angeles proves to be one of the toughest challenges.

Military Food Truck Family vs. Tight-Knit Cousins

Episode | From: Family Food Showdown
Cousins from a large Dominican family compete against a military mom and daughters whose Southern roots inspire their food truck menu. The three Espaillat cousins own 15 restaurants and proudly serve everything from Latin street food to their grandparents' traditional Dominican dishes. The Francois family runs a successful food truck that draws on their Alabama roots and military discipline. Host Valerie Bertinelli challenges the two teams to make hometown pork favorites, dishes for a kids' party and a cocktail party and a 20-minute weeknight dinner, and judges Daphne Oz, Isaac Toups and Bryan Voltaggio pick a winner.

A Food Truck Kind of Town, Chicago Is

Tyler starts the finalists off with a Chicago-style pizza challenge judged by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. After the mayor chooses the winner, the teams get ready to sell and are given their Speed Bump. The teams must keep a minimum of five dishes on their menu for the rest of the race. On day two, the teams must use another famed Chicago food in all their dishes — polish sausage. Once the teams sell 300 sausages, they race to Mike Ditka's restaurant, where he himself awards the prize and punishment. The winning team will get a five-hour head start to the next city.
