Big Eats for the Kid at Heart

The Grill Dads kick off their delicious road adventure by going on the hunt for over-the-top versions of food their kids absolutely love. In Portland, Oregon, they find The Grilled Cheese Grill where everyone's favorite sammie is the star player. The Dads have had a thousand grilled cheeses, but they've never had one stuffed with a decadent burger. At Boise Fry Company, the Dads discover crispy French fries, bison poutine and fried mashed potato balls. Finally, the Dads travel to San Francisco's Bacon Bacon, where the bacon so good they say it twice. On tap are fried bacon mac and cheese balls, and a juicy chicken sandwich breaded with salty bacon dust.

Lunch Break and Pasta Night

Amy and Chris dig into a comfort food staple – sandwiches. Amy starts the meal off right with a Tinto de Verano as Chris and Amy wax nostalgic about their trip to Spain. Chris then teaches Amy the art of making sandwiches, including a Roasted Vegetable and Amy’s dream train station sandwich of Prosciutto with Brie, accompanied by a Panzanella Salad. Amy and Chris decide the only answer for being quarantined is a good carbo-load. Chris starts up the feast with two kinds of Pasta, some Radishes and a Sweet Pea Crostini to go along with a refreshing Crab, Tomato and Avocado Salad. Amy then sits back to relax with a large glass of wine.

And sometimes you can't beat a good hamburger. Food you won't go near: I can't think of any! Weirdest thing you've ever eaten: I don't know! This depends on perspective, no? What is weird to me is normal to you! And visa versa. I guess people might think percebes (gooseneck barnacles) are weird. They look like something from the movie Beetlejuice. Favorite food destination: Casa Gerardo in Asturias for fabada, Chesapeake Bay for blue crab, El Bulli for anything. Alternative dream job: Soccer player, actor, playwright, astronaut or sailor
