What Is Restaurant Impossible: Last Call About?
Acclaimed chef Aarón Sánchez and dynamic Canadian restaurateur Jen Agg lead the charge to rescue struggling restaurants across North America. Their goal is not to formulate quick fixes. They will dig into real problems, adapt to a new and challenging restaurant industry and find creative, unexpected solutions tailored to each business. While Jen tackles design and front-of-house issues, Aarón works on the culinary side — and each of them assess exactly what needs to change for the restaurant to thrive. From horrendous Yelp reviews to feuding family members, every episode will reveal the challenges today’s restaurateurs face. Emotions run high, and the stakes become critical as strategies are devised for each location’s rescue plan.
In the premiere, Aarón and Jen visit Toronto’s oldest Hakka restaurant which is on the verge of collapse after 40 years of success. The family-owned business lost its crowd post-COVID, and now two sisters who left their successful careers to return to their parent’s restaurant must win customers back before their family livelihood and legacy disappears.
