Kraft Just Launched a Lactose-Free Cheese Line
Lactose-intolerant cheese lovers, rejoice!

Great news for those who avoid lactose but love cheese: Kraft Natural Cheese is launching a new line of lactose-free cheeses it says will "meet growing demand for dairy options that support a range of dietary needs without compromising on taste."
"As consumer needs continue to evolve, we are focused on delivering products that make it easier for more people to enjoy the foods they love," Dhriti Batra, director of Kraft Natural Cheese at Lactalis Heritage Dairy, says in a press release.
What’s in Kraft Natural Cheese’s new lactose-free product line?
The line will debut with three new lactose-free cheeses: Mild Cheddar Shredded Cheese, Mozzarella Shredded Cheese and Mozzarella String Cheese. The two shredded cheeses come in resealable pouches to extend freshness, while the string cheese will be sold in bags of 12 individually wrapped portions for “on-the-go” snacking.
Each of the cheeses contains real dairy yet zero grams of lactose and, the brand says, “delivers the flavor consumers know and love.”
The new lactose-free cheese line is made with added lactase, an enzyme that helps break down lactose, often used in lactose-free milk as well.
“Our Lactose-Free shreds and string cheese bring the same trusted taste and quality that Kraft Natural Cheese is known for, but now in a way that fits seamlessly into more lifestyles and everyday routines,” Batra says.

All three new lactose-free products are now available at select national retailers with a wider rollout to come.
