This Cuban-style hand-shaken cocktail appears simple, but it's actually not so easy to find the perfect balance of rum and sugar. This balance all depends on the style and strength of the rum, acidity of the lime juice, and viscosity of the sugar. The result is a perfectly chilled and sweet daiquiri.
Using a 3-piece Cobbler shaker, add rum, lime juice and simple syrup. Fill with ice cubes, cover and shake with ice, then strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a lime wheel.
