Becca Fico Sardines

2 tablespoons currants

2 tablespoons pignoli (pine nuts)

1 lemon

1 orange, whole

1 cup bread crumbs

1 cup olive oil

12 to 16 fresh whole sardines, cleaned, scaled, rinsed, dried and butterflied


  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Combine first 6 ingredients to make a stuffing. Stuff sardines, layer in oven proof dish and bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
