This big-batch recipe of dairy-free hot chocolate mix keeps for months in the fridge. The coconut milk powder base yields a creamy consistency that will satisfy anyone on a dairy-free diet who is yearning for this cozy and indulgent treat.

  1. Whisk the coconut milk powder, confectioners’ sugar, cocoa and salt together in a large bowl until fully combined. The dry mix can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 months.
  2. For each serving of hot chocolate, combine 1 cup of hot water with 1/2 cup of the mix. Whisk until there are no lumps and serve.

Cook’s Note

Look for coconut milk powder at specialty grocers or larger supermarkets in the Latin or Caribbean food aisles. If you want to keep this recipe vegan, be sure to use vegan confectioners’ sugar.
