Toast to the winter holidays with this dessert martini that distills all the flavors of a black forest cake into a cocktail without being cloyingly sweet.

Directions
Whisk together the heavy cream and confectioners’ sugar in a bowl until soft peaks form. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Combine the vodka, crème de cacao, amaretto, cherry syrup and bitters in a shaker with ice; shake for 20 seconds. Strain into a martini glass; add the cherry.
Gently spread 2 to 3 tablespoons whipped cream on top of the drink to cover. Drizzle with more cherry syrup and garnish with shaved chocolate.
