Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high. Mix the turkey, jerk seasoning, grated apple, scallions and panko in a bowl; season with salt and pepper. Form into four 1-inch-thick patties, making a small indentation on top of each using your thumb (this will prevent the burgers from puffing up during cooking).
  2. Oil the grill grates. Grill the patties until browned and cooked through, 4 to 5 minutes per side; top each with a slice of cheese during the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.
  3. Spread mayonnaise on the cut sides of the rolls and toast on the grill. Serve the burgers on the rolls and top with mustard and apple slices.

Cook’s Note

Serve with Chili-Lime Apple fries: Cut apples into matchsticks; toss with lime juice, then with chopped cilantro, chili powder, cayenne and salt.
