Four teen chefs return to the Chopped Kitchen with victory -- and redemption -- on their minds. With lump meat crab and mayo in the first basket, crab cake seems like the safe route, but will they surprise the judges with something more creative? In the entree round, one of the teens seems particularly unhappy to see a nostalgic candy, and a lovely vegetable is a novel ingredient for the young cooks. And the two teenagers who make it to the dessert round hustle to make sweet creations from Italian cookies and peanut butter toast.
This trip, Guy Fieri's heading to the Northeast for all kinds of great grub. There's a unique Mexican spot in New Hampshire, an Irish joint in Syracuse, N.Y. and a Connecticut spin on the cheeseburger. Plus, you can't forget about the regional seafood: from Maryland to Maine, there's loaded chowder, fresh lobster, killer cod cakes and classic crab.
Inspired by his childhood summer days at the Jersey Shore, Bobby Flay and Beach Bites host Katie Lee throw a breezy brunch for their guests. On the menu is a cooling Ginger Beer Margarita, Deviled Eggs with Fried Oysters, crisp BLTs with Fried Tomatoes, Roasted Shrimp Remoulade and Corn Cakes with Crab and Smoky Avocado Yogurt.
In the first round, the chefs learn they must make appetizers that include ginger-like galangal and a trendy taco. Miniature fruit and softshell crabs are two of the surprises that the competitors face in the entree round, and a pretty cake that reminds one judge of his childhood is at the center of an eclectic dessert basket.
