The remaining three teams pull into Jonesborough, Tenn., population 5,000. Nervous about how this small town will react to them, the teams meet Tyler on Main Street and realize that this leg of the race will hinge on their sales acumen and food quality. The trucks battle over the crowd assembled for a music festival but keeping their attention proves difficult. In the Truck Stop challenge, Tyler tells the team’s to meet him at Old Man Johnson’s farm to cook an authentic five-course prairie meal over an open fire to be judged by two cowboy historians from the American Chuck Wagon Association. As a reward, the winning team moves their truck to a greater populated town where they have the chance to beat out the competition.

Five competitors compete in the non-beef category for $10,000 and five competitors compete in the beef category for a whopping $50,000! To build the recruits' understanding of flavor, Chefs Anne and Robert set out three sauces for each team to replicate by taste alone in hopes of winning the honor of "top taste buds". Each chef then incorporates one of the sauces into a seafood dish, and their team members must recreate the recipe for the Skill Drill. After some difficulties, the recruits start in on the Main Dish Challenge where Chefs Anne and Robert demo a multi-component "Frozen Meal Makeover" using fresh and flavorful ingredients for the recruits to replicate. After sampling the results, two more worst cooks must turn in their aprons and leave Boot Camp.

For their skill drill challenge, the recruits dive into the world of seafood by solving a recipe riddle to make ceviche. For the main dish challenge, chefs Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence show them how to butcher their own fish and make the classic fish en papillote. The recruits have to replicate their chef's fish but also create their own vegetable side dish. The two recruits that sink to the bottom enter the blind elimination challenge and attempt to cook their way into another week of boot camp.
