Watch a Sneak Peek of the All-New Series 'Baking Championship: Next Gen'
Siblings pair up to compete in Food Network's newest iteration of the Baking Championship franchise. See what it's all about.
Food Network is introducing a new addition to the Baking Championship franchise: Baking Championship: Next Gen. Our favorite Baking Championship duo Duff Goldman and Kardea Brown will helm the jam-packed pastry journey. The series premieres Monday, January 5 at 8|7c.
What's Next Gen About?
Twelve teams of siblings ages 8-14 compete to win $25,000 and become the next generation of Baking Champions. Once the competition begins, the sibling collaborators will take on tricky challenges like “breakfast dessert imposters,” “cream puff friendship bracelets” and “animated cakes.”
In the first episode, 12 young sibling teams will step into the pastry school style kitchen and learn they must try out for their spot in the Baking Championship: NextGen competition. Duff and Kardea will put them through two rounds of skills challenges to assess which 10 teams will move on, and which two teams will be eliminated before the competition starts. In the first skills test, the nervous teams put up a dozen of their best cupcakes. For the second skills test, the teams must create a pie from scratch good enough to prove they have what it takes to compete.
