Diving In, Feet First

Marc, Maneet and Aarón cook with a basket that includes butter beans, coleslaw mix, sweet potato chips and pickled pig's feet. The three judges dive right in without waiting for Ted's go-ahead. Aarón yells, "We're going to show them what time it is." Ted replies, "It's 20 minutes."

It's the Thought That Counts

Ted goes over to Maneet's station and empties the jar of pickled pig's feet into a bowl, sarcastically calling it a "breakfast of champions." He helps pick out some of the bones. She says, "Oh, the gifts you get from me, Ted," as she combines ingredients together for her dish.

A New Kind of Soup

Marc turns his ingredients into a soup, which tipped over because he left the immersion blender unattended. He decides to scrape the soup off the counter back into the bowl to which Aarón says, "Marc, I can't wait to have some."

No More Mr. Taco

Aarón decided to make a pasta and Ted wonders what made him decide on it. "I'm sick of being Mr. Taco," says Aarón. "I actually love making pastas." He plates the penne, which has the pig's feet and beans marinated in lemon, coleslaw broth and a sweet potato crumb topping with bacon.

Clever Disguise

Marc ladles out his soup, which he tells Ted he's calling "tabletop soup." He has the sauteed pig's feet and crumbled Italian sausage topping ready on his cutting board. "What you've done effectively is to hide the pig's feet inside that yummy sausage," comments Ted.

The Queen at Work

Maneet puts the finishing touches on her pig's feet, sweet potato chip and butter bean cakes, which she's nestled atop a coleslaw mix kimchi. Ted called her "the queen of spices" for knowing exactly how to turn these unfortunate ingredients into a flavorful dish.

Toppings Galore

Marc puts final touches on his so-called "minestrone." He used the sweet potato chips to thicken the pureed soup but also has a number of toppings for texture. "This is what I call putting lipstick on a pig," says Marc as he grates cheese over the bowls of soup.

Lessons Learned

Aarón does a last-minute toss of his pasta, saying, "I don't think Scott is the only man that's allowed to make pasta here." Marc and Ted comment on the acidity in his dish. Ted and Aarón praise Maneet's cake for its sweetness and moistness. Ted calls Marc's soup "hearty," and Maneet blankly adds, "You also shared a very avant-garde cooking technique with us." Marc's advice: "You should always work in a clean kitchen."
