This Valentine’s Day, Give Your Sweetie a Skittles-Colored Bust of Yourself

Is this cute or weird? We're not sure.

Planning to get your beloved flowers or chocolate for Valentine’s Day – or maybe a bacon or beef jerky bouquet? All fine options, sure, but if you really want to turn your loved one’s head on February 14, you may wish to consider giving them a custom, 3D-printed bust of themselves in a bright-as-candy color and with hair made of (fake) yogurt.

So weird, and yet so appealing.

Inspired by Skittles Dips, the new yogurt-covered-Skittles product launched by the brand in November, the busts are “made to resemble the indulgent, multi-textured candy, including the soft, creamy yogurt-flavored-looking coating of Dips,” the company told FN Dish via email, “… because nothing says ‘I love you’ quite like a custom bust of your face!”

The busts (which, no, sigh, are not edible) are available in your pick of five “fruity” colors – orange, yellow, red, purple and green -- inspired by the flavors of Skittles candies. Alas, you can pick only one of the colors, as the busts, which will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis will be limited to one per customer.

Guaranteed to arrive by Valentine’s Day, the custom busts can be purchased starting this Friday, January 31, at 10 a.m. EST, for $20.20 at Skittles’ Etsy Store. While Skittles is not making available a specific limited quantity of the busts, orders will be capped at some point “to ensure orders arrive prior to Valentine’s Day,” so if you want a candy-colored, fake-yogurt-topped bust of your beloved (or holy moly, could you, like, make a bust of your pet?!), you probably want to get your order in sooner rather than later.

Once you place your order, you will be asked to submit headshots of the bustee from four angles: front, back, left and right. (So if you want it to be a surprise, you’ll have to make up some reason for snapping your significant other’s mug shot; we can’t think of one right now, but surely you can come up with something.) A digital 3D rendering is created based on the photos you submit and then printed in 3D and shipped directly to you, for you to present (ta-da!) to your sig oth.

Sweetest … weird Valentine’s Day gift … ever!
