Who doesn’t like toys that are cute, soft and huggable? Squishmallows collectors are certainly fans. And if you’re into these crazy-popular plushies, you’ll probably want to run, not walk, to your local McDonald’s. After a two-year hiatus, Squishmallows are returning to Happy Meals.
The toys were a huge sensation when the collab first launched in 2023.
"The Squishmallows Happy Meal has taken the world by storm,” Gerhard Runken, executive vice president of brand and marketing at Squishmallows’ maker Jazwares, said at the time. “We are excited to bring the program to our millions of fans in the U.S. with fun new ways to collect and connect with the Squishmallows brand.”
Now, McDonald’s is releasing “a new squad on the block that you won’t want to miss out on,” it says in a press release. “This time the pocket-sized plushies are showing off with an even happier, more adorable smile.”
From now until supplies run out — which, given the toys’ popularity, could be soon — every Happy Meal box will include one of 12 different Squishmallows. This cheerful dozen includes “a never-before-seen Intergalactic Axolotl named Halley,” McDonald’s says.
Each Squishmallow includes a tag with the character’s name and a scannable code that takes you to an interactive, immersive game.
The toys’ Happy Meal return was announced this week, and fans are already freaking out online.
“NEED THEM ALL!!!!” wrote one fan on Instagram in response to the news.
“They’re so cute!!” another gushed.
“Dinner sorted for the rest of the week, happy meals every day,” a third plushie enthusiast said.
Way to put the happy in Happy Meal.
