Some hotels are all about mints on the pillows. DoubleTree by Hilton hotels are famous for their freshly baked chocolate-chip cookies, available to guests checking in. For the first time, the hotel chain is giving warm-welcome cookie fans a taste of the suite life by sharing the recipe for its signature chocolate chip cookies.
“A lot of you have been telling us you miss our famous chocolate chip cookie,” DoubleTree tweeted on Thursday. “So for the first time ever, we’re revealing the recipe so you can make it yourself at home.”
The recipe, copycat versions of which have long circulated online, calls for ingredients you probably have in your pantry – nothing more unusual than rolled oats and walnuts – which is a plus. And given that more than 30 million of the cookies are consumed by hotel guests (and probably some of the workers, too) every year, it’s a fair guess that people all over the world will be happy to get the details on how to make the warm, gooey treat.

“We know this is an anxious time for everyone,” Shawn McAteer, senior vice president and global head of DoubleTree by Hilton, said in a news release. “A warm chocolate chip cookie can’t solve everything, but it can bring a moment of comfort and happiness. We hope families enjoy the fun of baking together during their time at home, and we look forward to welcoming all our guests with a warm DoubleTree cookie when travel resumes.”
Along with the recipe, the hotel chain has also shared a video of the cookies being made, to help home bakers achieve chocolate-chip cookie perfection.
Because nothing makes either a hotel lobby or home seem cozier than the smell of fresh-baked chocolate-chip cookies – except maybe the taste of fresh-baked chocolate-chip cookies.
