For further proof that the Dubai chocolate bar craze is still gaining ground — more than a year after this viral TikTok video played a key role in spreading the word, and a few weeks after it landed at Shake Shack — head to your local Costco.

Dubai Chocolate Ice Cream Bars, from the trend-aware, Southern California-based ice cream brand Afters, have been spotted at Costco — and people are excited. Or lots of them are, anyway.

“This is the trend that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friends …,” food blogger Mark Vayntraub, who calls himself “The Willy freaking Wonka of Brooklyn,” wrote on Instagram.

Beside that message, Vayntraub had posted an image, credited to Costco, showing a box of 10 Afters Ice Cream’s Dubai Chocolate Bars, featuring, according to the label, “Milk & Cream, Pistachio, Kataifi Chocolate Coating” and “International Vitality.” (Kataifi, which can be spelled a variety of ways, is phyllo dough shredded into super-thin, crumbly strands.)

“Sold only at Costco for now. Found in-stores!” he wrote, before asking commenters if they would try the trendy treat.

Many said they would.

But at least several commenters said they already had tried them — at Coachella, where they were apparently selling for quite a bit more than Costco is selling them for.

“Those are fire !! I tried them at Coachella, I expended 39 bucks bc I ate 1 daily … I can’t wait to get 2 boxes for the same price that I paid for 3 popsicles…” wrote one.

“It’s really good and cost $13 for 1 bar at Coachella,” another wrote.

Costco is reportedly selling the bars for $18 per box, which means you might want to get there early in the day to sleuth them out for fear they’ll sell out as fast as those whopping cartons of eggs.
