The Malibu Beach-based primetime soap opera Baywatch had plenty of salty (not to mention steamy) moments. But now, the breakout star of that series is trading the warm waters of the Pacific for another briny venture. Pamela Anderson is making pickles.

Pamela’s Pickles are a collaboration with Los Angeles-based Flamingo Estate, a literal estate and garden, as well as an online retailer of skincare, candles and pantry items with an organic, natural bent. The partnership came about after spending a day on the grounds with Flamingo Estate founder Richard Christiansen and partner Harvey, as well as Anderson’s son Brandon.

Anderson, in addition to her acting career (most recently starring in The Naked Gun reboot opposite Liam Neeson), is also an avid gardener and cookbook author. The pickles are inspired by a recipe handed down from her Great Auntie Vie as well as one in Anderson’s own cookbook, and harken back to childhood memories of pickling while growing up on Canada’s Vancouver Island.

“It was such a wonderful surprise to discover another facet of Pamela,” Christiansen said of the collaboration. “She’s a remarkable chef, gardener, and activist. She has big green thumbs and the most wonderful perspective on life of anyone I’ve met. It has been a joy to get to know her, and these pickles are a souvenir of a very happy time together.”

Beyond their pink label, you might notice a rosy pop of color inside the jar, too. That’s because in addition to usual pickline suspects like dill, mustard and garlic, Anderson added a floral flare to the brine with rose petals. And for their part, Flamingo Estate contributed pink peppercorn, Guajillo chile and a smoky sea salt.

Despite being described as having “a cool crunch that carries endless herb, smoke, and spice,” these pickles also offer a sweet note in the form of a charitable contribution. All of the proceeds from the sales of Pamela’s Pickles will support the California Wildlife Center, a nonprofit that provides veterinary care to sick and injured wild animals, including baby deer, coyotes and songbirds, as well as marine life.

Online orders of Pamela’s Pickles are currently available exclusively from the Flamingo Estate website, and will begin shipping August 18. Each 24-ounce jar sells for $38 plus shipping.
